Does my lift come with the necessary anchor bolts and / or hardware to mount it to the floor?

Most of our lifts ship with the necessary anchors required for mounting the unit to your floor.

Does hydraulic fluid come with the lifts?

Due to current DOT and insurance laws regarding the transport of hydraulic oils (DOT Section 1 - Hazardous Ingredients; DOT Section 2 - Fire and Explosion Hazards and DOT Section 3 - Health Hazards) the required hydraulic fluid is to be supplied by the end-user, only. BendPak lifts are designed to operate using standard 10-weight, non-foaming, non-detergent hydraulic oil or Dexron-III ATF fluid. This is available in virtually any automotive store.

Do I need a special floor or foundation to support my new lift?

Most residential or commercial foundations are strong enough to support BendPak lifts. However, it is important to adhere to concrete specifications. Failure to do so could cause lift failure resulting in personal injury or death.

A level floor is suggested for proper installation and level lifting. With proper shimming, small differences in floor slopes may be compensated for. If a floor is of questionable slope, consider a survey of the site and / or the possibility of pouring a new level concrete slab.

Be sure to check your floor for the possibility of it being a post tension slab. In this case, contact the building architect before drilling. Visually inspect the site where the lift is to be installed and verify the concrete is in good condition. If your concrete has cracks or other defects, please consult with a certified contractor before proceeding to install any BendPak lift.

Lift owners and end users are responsible for the safe installation of their lift. The figures below represent suggested concrete specifications, but should not be construed as actual requirements for your building, facility or application. Because local and statewide building codes may change and / or vary, always check with the building architect before installation for additional guidance on UBC compliance requirements. In no event shall BendPak Inc. be liable for special, consequential or incidental damages for the misinterpretation of this information. BendPak Inc. reserves the right to make changes to this document without incurring any obligation to notify the public that changes were made.

What is the ceiling height required for a BendPak lift?

The required ceiling height will vary depending on the lift model, as well as the intended vehicle. Please refer to the product specification page for each product for further details.

Concrete Requirements:

LIFT LOCATION: Always use the architectural plans when available. Check layout dimensions against floor
plan requirements making sure that adequate space is available.

OVERHEAD OBSTRUCTIONS: The area where the lift will be located should be free of overhead
obstructions such as heaters, building supports, electrical lines etc.

DEFECTIVE CONCRETE: Visually inspect the site where the lift is to be installed and check for cracked or
defective concrete.

LEVEL FLOOR: A level floor is suggested for proper installation. Proper shimming may compensate for small
differences in floor slopes. If a floor is of questionable slope, consider a survey of the site and/or the
possibility of pouring a new level concrete slab. Specifications of concrete must be adhered to. Failure to do
so could cause lift failure resulting in personal injury or death. A level floor is suggested for proper installation
and level lifting. Small differences in floor slopes may be compensated for by proper shimming. If a floor is of
questionable slope, consider a survey of the site and/or the possibility of pouring a new level concrete slab.
• DO NOT install lifts on any asphalt surface or any surface other than concrete.
• DO NOT install lifts without first consulting building architect.
• DO NOT install lifts on expansion seams or on cracked or defective concrete.
• DO NOT install lifts on a second / elevated floor without first consulting building architect.
Lift owners and end users are responsible for the safe installation of their lift. The figures above represent
suggested concrete specifications but should not be construed as actual requirements for your building,
facility or application. Because local and statewide building codes may change and/or vary, always check

event shall Bend-Pak Inc. be liable for special, consequential or incidental damages for the misinterpretation
of this information. Bend-Pak Inc. reserves the right to make changes to this document without incurring any
obligation to notify the public that changes were made.
Electrical:
The electrical requirements on all lifts do vary. Please consult with your dealer for proper hook-up
requirements or review the applicable product catalogs thoroughly. Note: Most lift installation contractors
WILL NOT do any electrical installation. All electrical work MUST be performed by a certified electrician only.
Hydraulic Fluid Requirement:
Due to current DOT and insurance laws regarding the transport of hydraulic oils (DOT / Section 1
-- Hazardous Ingredients, DOT / Section 2 -- Fire and Explosion Hazards and DOT / Section 3 -- Health
Hazards) hydraulic fluid is usually supplied by the end-user only and will be required for testing and
operation. Dexron 3 ATF fluid is recommended.
Air Requirement:
An air supply (115 PSI / 15 CFM Min.) will be required for all four post lift models. Final installation and
plumbing of necessary air supply will be the responsibility of the end-user unless prior arrangements have
been made with your instillation contractor.
Forklift Requirement:
When an order is shipped via a freight truck it is the customer’s responsibility to have means of unloading the
freight. In most instances gate delivery will prove impossible due to the size and the weight of the lifts.
Installation Site:
It is the customer’s responsibility to provide a clean work environment for the installation crew.
Unless previously arranged, installation crews will not be responsible for any tearing-down of equipment and
cleaning the site for installation.
Estimated Installation Costs:
Bend-Pak uses a nationwide network of independent contractors for lift installations. We provide this as a
service to our customers. The following prices are estimated only and do not included any accessorial
charges including electrical, air, unloading or special handling. If you would like to have a lift installed at your
location, please contact our customer service department by calling
